Nar phu valley trek

Nar phu valley trek is a fantastic journey in the wild and explored area. This route is located to the north of Annapurna. This trek takes us to the exotic and enthralling valley. This treks take you to the remote part of Nepal densely populated Nepalese Tibetan who depend on livestock. This route need special permit because it is also listed in the restricted area by the government of Nepal. This trek offers you to see the wonderful views of the Annapurna massif, Lamjung Himal, Machhapuchre Himal, Manaslu Himal, Dhaulagiri range and Tilicho peaks. The valley system above opens up to the Hugh expanse of a Hugh snow peaks, ancient’s villages and the high altitude settlement. A trek is popular as non touristic destination and also rich in typical cultural heritage.  There are more than one hundred houses within these villages and it is not just that two village in the valley you can see Jhunum, Chhyakhu Meta and Kyang along the trail.

Nar phu valley trek cover the major proton of the trails of famous Annapurna circuit trek. Traditional life style wonderful nomad landscape rewards one of the best explorations journey in remote hidden mountain valley of this region. This route name is kept in the combination of two village called Nar and Phu. A trek offers the magnificent snowed capped mountain views, narrow gorge, and nature beauty forest, incredible, glacier, high pass of Kang la 5200m. In this place most of the people are engaged in yak herding and farming. The best time to travel in this route is April to June and September to November. People from these two villages celebrate many festivals like lhosar, Derchi, Yakchha and many others and they follow Buddhism and they follow their own culture.

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and check-in to Hotel

The representatives from Himalayan Scenery will welcome you at TIUA (Tribhuwan International University Airport) upon your arrival. We then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 02: Full Day Sightseeing Kathmandu Valley

Take breakfast and around at 9:00 AM start to sightseeing point, we spend the whole for the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. You will have the full day guided sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley covering the major cultural attractions which have also been cited as The World Heritage Cultural Sites. Which is most popular Kathmandu Durbar square and Kumari temple, Patan Durbar Squer Krishna Mandir temple, Syoyembhunath Buddhist Temple, Boddhanath stupa One of the biggest stupa in the world and Pashupatinath Hindu Temple which is main shrine hindusim temple, After visit return to hotel and stay overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Beshisahar to Sangee by Local Jeep takes 7 hours

Kathmandu to Beshishar and Beshisahar to Sangee by Local Express bus Local Jeep, It's a distance of 185 kilometers and 2 hours short Tough Road to Sange.  Besishahar offers you the beautiful views of snowcapped mountains around. We stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 04: Trek from Syangee to Bagarchhap (2160m) – 6 Hours

After breakfast trek to Bagarchhap, our day begins with a rocky trail following the Marsyangdi River steadily uphill to Tal. Tal is the first village in the Manang District. Crossing the wide and flat valley, our trail continues up and down to Dharapani (1890m). Upon reaching Bagarchhap, you can witness the typical flat roofed stone houses of local Tibetans. The village is surrounded by apple Orchads and maize fields. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Trek from Dharapani to Koto (2600m) – 6 Hours

After breakfast trek to Koto. Our trail goes along the mule track through the dense pine and oak forest. During the trek, you will also get to explore the rich culture of Koto. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 06: Trek from Koto to Dharmasala (3230m) – 7 Hours

Today, our journey is going to be quite long and somewhat difficult. We have to pass through several small caves and pilgrims on the way. And continuously walking for about 7 hours will bring us to Dharmasala where we spend overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 07: Trek from Dharmasala to Kayang (3740m) – 6 Hours

After breakfast trek to Dharmasala, we will have a steep climb up the valley along a small and scenic river that brings us to high pastures. We will also pass through scenic Meta Kharka on the way. Meta Kharka is a non-permanent winter settlement of Nar. Finally, we reach the village of Kayanag where we spend overnight at lodge.

Day 08: Trek from Kayang to Phu Valley (4050m) – 6 Hours

After breakfast trek to Phu Valley, we have to move steeply down to the river. And from the river, we have to trek for a while along the river bank passing some possible campsites on the way. Eventually, we reach the village of Nar where we spend overnight at lodge.

Day 09: Exploration Day at Phu Valley

After breakfast trek to phu valley, we spend our full day for the exploration of Phu Valley. Today, we get an opportunity to meet the local Phu residents and get to know about their culture and stay overnight at lodge.

Day 10: Trek from Phu Valley to Junam (3550m) – 5 Hours

We descend to the river back through Phu gate and then retrace our steps back to the JunamKhola. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 11: Trek from Junam to Nar Village (4150m) – 5 Hours

After breakfast trek to Junam, will be another classic Himalayan trekking day for us. Descending down to the old bridge spanning a deep and contoured narrow gorge, we return back again and reach the Nar gates at the top of the hill. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 12: Exploration Day at Nar Village

After breakfast trek to Nar Village, We take this whole day for the exploration of Nar village. Nar is bit more social and lively than Phu. In Nar, you will have a close look over the local culture and lifestyle. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 13: Trek from Nar Village to Ngwal (3675m) after crossing Kang La Pass (5315m) – 6 Hours

After breakfast trek to Nar Village, we head for Ngwal today. Today, we have to cross Kang La pass which is not a difficult pass but it could be a long day if there is snow on the pass. After crossing the spectacular pass of Kang La, we eventually reach Ngwal where we set up our camp for the overnight stay.

Day 14: Trek from Ngawal to Manang (3500m) 5 hours

After breakfast trek to Manang short day and visit to Beautiful old villages braga monastery and traditional houses. And forward to manang stay overnight at lodge.

Day 15: Acclimatization at Manang

Today we spend a day acclimatizing at Manang. We spend the whole day doing some fine day walks and enjoying the magnificent sights around the village. We can explore the absolutely gorgeous Manang Valley and the lifestyle of the people there. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 16: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4000m) – 6 Hours

After breakfast trek to Yakkharka, we continue our journey from Manang today. Our trail ascends nearly 500m to Yak Kharka. Climbing steadily through TenkiManang, we leave the Marsyangdi Valley and continue along the JarsangKhola valley. We eventually reach Yak Kharka at 4000m where you can see the herds of yaks and vegetation thinning out. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 17: Trek from Yak Kharka to ThorongPhedi (4450m) – 6Hours

After breakfast trek to Thorngfedi, we continue our ascent for about two hours and then descend down to cross the river. We then climb up to ThorongPhedi where you can see some decent guesthouses. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 18: Trek from ThorongPhedi to Muktinath (3800m) via Thorong La Pass (5416m) – 8 Hours

Our journey today is going to be quite longer today. So we start early in the morning before sunrise to reach the Pass by 9am. We have to consider about the weather conditions that might greatly affect our journey particularly at the Thorong La pass which is at the altitude of 5416m. We have to climb steeply on a regular route which is quite easy to follow. When we rich at muktinath temple and visit to 108 water tape which is believed Hinduism and Buddhism which is most popular pilgrimage Muktinath temple and Buddhist monastery stay overnight at lodge. 

Day 19: Trek from Muktinath to Marpha (2670m) – 6 Hours

After breakfast trek to Marpha, we leave Muktinath and descend through the Kaligandaki Valley to Marpha. Marpha is considered a home to the legendary apple orchids is known as the Apple capital of Nepal. Apple Brandy is another local specialty that you may be lucky enough to taste on the way. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 20: drive to Tatopani by local jeep or Express bus (1190m) – 4 Hours

After breakfast trek to tatopani, we drive to through the deepest gorge of the world, Kopchepani. And we then continue descending thorugh the Kali Gandaki River Valley to Tatopani. At Tatopani, you can enjoy bathing in natural hot springs. This is the best place to relax your body after the trek of a long day. We stay overnight at lodge.

Day 21: Trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani (2810m) – 7 Hours

After breakfast trek to ghorepani is going to be a big day as it takes around 8 hours to reach Ghorepani from Tatopani. So, we climb about 1650 meters up and pass a couple of Magar and Gurung villages on the way. We stay overnight at a guesthouse in Ghorepani.

Day 22: Hike to Poon Hill (3210m) and trek to Tikhedhunga (1570m) – 5 Hours

Early in the morning today, we start an hour hiking to Poon Hill (3210m) which is a best viewpoint in the Annapurna Region. Poon Hill offers the best opportunity to witness the phenomenal panorama of the beautiful peaks including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. After poon hill return to same lodge at ghorepani take breakfast and start to our journey forward to Tikhedhunga and stay overnight at lodge.

Day 23: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Nayapul (1010m) – 3 Hours and Drive to Pokhara – 1 Hour

After breakfast trek to nayapul and drive to pokhara, it takes only few hours walk (about 3 to three hours) to reach Nayapul fromTikhedhunga. From Nayapul, we take 1-hourdrive to Pokhara where we stay overnight at hotel.

Day 24: Drive Back to Kathmandu by tourist bus or Private van

From hotel to transfer tourist bus station or domestic airport depend on schedule. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you can utilize your time for the last minute shopping or you can explore around the city. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 25: Final International Departure

Transfer from hotel to International airport you take the returning flight to your hometown. Our representatives will assist you to reach the airport. You return to your home with an unforgettable travel experience in Nepal and happy journey.
